This is probably the most exciting thing we’ve ever done . We’re going to have a competition.
There is only so far you can get by hoping people stumble across a web site so we need posters. Especially as there is a shop that sells Ukuleles bang in the middle of Moseley. Just think what would happen if we put posters up in there?
Exactly.
I have effectively no graphic design skills what so ever. Which means we are going to have a competition.
If you design us a poster AND it is good AND we like it then we will give you a Ukulele. Not a crap one with a picture of a tree on it but something like a Kala Soprano.
All you need to do is try and come up with something that is quite amusing, can be printed out on A3 paper and can be customised to put different dates and stuff on. If you can, try and use our logo. If you can come up with a better logo then that would be even better. This one was thrown together in an afternoon and I don’t really like it that much.
Entries can be emailed to competition@moselele.co.uk
The closing date for the competition is the 25th July.
All entries will be judged in some sort of democratic way that I haven’t really thought through yet.
The actual prize will depend on what we can get at the time. Though it will be good so it’s worth having a go.
Thanks and good luck.
This group needs a facebook fan page.
It’s a possibility. I want to be clear, in my own mind, what it would do that is different to the site.
I don’t really want two things to look after without a good reason.
simply for volume of traffic, as you said, the chances of people randomly stumbling across the site are slim… where as facebook suggests fan pages to other people on your friends lists and so might generate interest in people who previously hadn’t thought of taking up the uke.
If can set up your fan page to use tools such as Graffiti http://www.facebook.com/RSS.Graffiti?v=app_4949752878
which would automatically publish content from the Rss feed from this site to the facebook site, so you would only need maintain one site.
