Don’t for one minute think this means we will be doing The Final Countdown on Thursday, though thinking about it I will add it to the songbook. It seems to tick every soft rock criteria we’ve got.
It’s the final trip out for the Christmas Songbook (for this year at least) on Thursday. I think the 2nd of December taught us some very important lessons which we need to build on. Firstly, we do need to have the heating on, below freezing is not a particularly good temperature for instruments invented in the tropics. Secondly, playing Fairy Tale In New York in Patrick Kavanagh’s is like some sort of crazy dog whistle to the locals.
It was a great meeting, probably our most successful so far. That means things can only get better. Which is why we will have hats and pies on Thursday.
As usual we’ll be in Patrick Kavanagh’s from 8pm in the room upstairs. We’ll bring copies of the songbook and the sleigh bells. All you have to do is bring your Uke and a decent pair of lungs. Failing that we even have spare Uke’s so we just need enthusiasm.
If you’ve never played before then this is the perfect way to learn.
Also a quick reminder that we have the Facebook group for song choice discussion.
See you on Thursday
