We take Christmas very seriously.
We will be demonstrating this on Thursday when we have the first run through of the Christmas Songbook. We’ve got just about every Christmas song we can think of in there and we estimate it is 43% more festive than last years book.
We will be in the back room of the Prince of Wales from 8:00pm to have a good go at all of the new songs, so it would be really useful if you could you print one out. If you don’t print one out then you’re going to have to share and that isn’t very Christmassy is it?
It’s also worth reminding you that on the 15th rather than playing in the back room we’ve been asked to do pretty well the same thing but in the beer garden (the heated beer garden), we’re inviting anyone along for a good old fashioned Christmas knees up. Though that is the 15th and not the meeting on Thursday.
If you can’t stand the wait then there is a Spotify playlist here.
Even better than that is the YouTuble playlist we’ve put together below. I know it’s weird subjecting yourself to this level of Christmas in November but it is practice.
My most enjoyed song for the season is “Driving home for Christmas” by Chris Rea. Mud’s “Lonely this Christmas” was my long time favorite, but it is kind of a sad song, and I like to be cheerful. “Driving home for Christmas” always puts wonderful images in my head of white, open roads and gives me the best Christmas feeling.
